Best of NH 2020 Breweries, Wine, Spirits, Cocktails & Bars: Editors Pick for Overall Restaurant/Bar Experience

by Peter Jude Ricciardi

When you stop into the Railpenny Tavern in Epping, you’ll discover what makes this spot so unique. It’s the perfect combination of fun, high-quality food, craft beer, innovative cocktails and friendly people — as in, people who are genuinely happy to see you. Whether it’s your first visit or your 71st, the staff and customers make everyone welcomed and valued. Seriously, there is nothing on the menu that isn’t carefully made, but this is where the locals and people who are simply passing through on their way to someplace else go. A stop here always feels like home, and that is what makes it a Best of New Hampshire spot.

Our Gourmet: A long overdue visit to Railpenny pays off
October 3rd, 2023

Railpenny has a great location, great food and friendly service. Over the next few weeks, the foliage surrounding the
beer garden out back should be spectacular. We may not be back in time for any leaf peeping, but we will definitely be putting
Railpenny on a “worth another visit” list

Our Gourmet: A few tasty highlights from 2023
December 26th 2023

“We had driven by the Railpenny Tavern, at the intersection of routes 125 and 27 in Epping, many times over the years but never stopped in. We finally did, in September, and we were surprised and impressed with the level and quality of the cuisine in what we had naively assumed
to be a simple roadside bar and grill. Railpenny’s PEI mussels may be the best we’ve ever had, and the Statler chicken breast, served atop goat cheese and mushroom risotto, was excellent. The beer garden out back near the Lamprey River looked like a great place to hang out
on a summer evening.”
